Spit Bridge to Manly

Hellouta hellouta hehe viikonloppu tuli ja meni, kerettiin kyllä tehä vaikka mitä! Perjantaina katottiin lätkää (hyi en ikinä kato mitään tv-urheilua, paitsi tennistä katoin kerran ja se oli ihan hauskaa) Mutta joo siis oli kunnon kaikki suomipaidat päällä yms... Päätin kyl mennä nukkuu kesken pelin koska olin vähän kipee vielä ja periaatteessa siis jääkiekkohan ei vois vähempää kiinnostaa ja en vaan ollu päässy fiilikseen. Aamulla sit kuulin että Suomi ei ees voittanu sitä pelii lol. Mut pronssii silti Usaa vastaan jee! Tehtiin viikonlopun aikana kans kolmen tunnin kävely Spit Bridgeltä Manlyyn, joka oli tosi jees! Yks pikku juttu vaan unohtu nimittäin ruoka. Ei oltu otettu mitään eväitä mukaan, joten siin vaiheessa kun päästiin Manlyyn niin rynnättiin ekaan burgeri-pihvi-mestaan, joka nähtiin. Se oli ihan kauhee paikka. Ruoka oli huonolaatusta ja ylihinnoteltuu koska no, silleen niitä turistei huijataan Manlyssä heh joka on siis täynnä turisteja. Mutta kelpas koska oli nälkä :D 

Hello! So the weekend went pretty quickly, we did have time to do many things though! On Friday there was an ice hockey game (Finland vs. Sweden) so we watched that (I usually never watch any sports on tv except for that one tennis game that I though was fun to watch) but yea we had all these Finland t-shirts and shit... xD I decided to go to bed in the middle of the game cause I was still a bit sick and couldn't care less about hockey and just wasn't in the mood. In the morning I hear that Finland didn't even win the game lol. But at least we got bronze against USA, yey! During the weekend we also did a three hour walk from Spit Bridge to Manly and it was heaps fun! Unfortunately we weren't that well prepared so we forgot to pack food with us heh... Sooo at that point we got to Manly we just ran to the first steak-burger-restaurant we saw. It was such a horrible place. The food was really bad quality and overprized cause, well that's how they cheat tourists there. And Manly is full of tourists so I guess it works, what a great business idea... But we ate it cause we were STARVING :D

Lauantai oli hauska päivä, näin keskustassa kahta au pair -kamua, joista toinen on lähössä pian kiertää East Coastia (kadekadekade) mutta onneks ehditään nähä vielä ennen kun hän lähtee takasin omaan kotimaahansa, Saksaan. Se on aina haikeeta kun kavereita lähtee mutta tietty uusia tulee myös koko ajan lisää :) Mikään ei kuitenkaan tunnu auttavan siihen, että on ihan järkyttävä ikävä kaikkia rakkaita Suomessa! Paitsi Skype vähän auttaa. Silti mietityttää toi tulevaisuus että uskallanko oikeesti jäädä tänne toiseks vuodeks... Ehkä pitää vaan yrittää olla huolehtimatta liikaa tulevasta ja antaa elämän viedä. Täl hetkel tuntuu tosiaankin siltä, että aussit on niin mun mesta, enkä vois mitenkään palata takas Suomi-arkeen kun elämä on muuttunu ihan täysin. Anyways nyt oon höpötelly tarpeeks tältä erää, hyvää alkanutta viikkoo kaikki!
   
Saturday was pretty fun, I met two of my au pair friends in the city. The other of them is going to travel the East Coast pretty soon (I'm sooo jelly) but lucky we still have time to see each other before she goes back to her home country, Germany. It's always a bit sad when your friends are leaving but on the other hand you make new friends all the time as well :) I miss my darlings in Finland SO MUCH and it feels like there's nothing that helps that. Except Skype helps a bit. Still I'm thinking if I have the courage to stay here for another year like for real... Maybe I'm just gonna try not to worry too much about the future and see where life is taking me. At the moment I really feel that Australia is the place to be for me and I couldn't imagine going back to my daily life in Finland as my life has totally changed since I came here. Anyways, I think this is enough talking shit for now, have a great week everyone!

Marly is Gnarly

Hehee löysin ihan älyttömiä kuvia yhdeltä illalta Marly Barista jota tykkään kutsua myös nimellä Gnarly bar koska, noh... Se nyt vaan on niin gnarly. Tää kyseinen mesta on vastapäätä Nickin taloa joten senkin takia ehkä tulee vierailtua melko usein heh. Mutta joo oli oikeestaan hyvin hauska tää eräs lauantai-ilta, neljä suomalaista ja kolme aussia :D Ja joo mä tiedän että mun pitäis luultavasti vältellä suomalaisten seuraa tai jotain, mutta faktahan on se että jos tapaa poikkeuksellisen mukavia tyyppejä, jotka nyt vaan sattuu olemaan suokkeja niin sillon on kyllä tehtävä poikkeus tähän sääntöön! Ja englantiahan me silti suurimmaks osaks puhutaan ;) On aina kiva muistella viikonloppuja tälleen keskellä viikkoa. Mutta mutta onneks kahden työpäivän päästä se on taas edessä, jee! 

I found some insanely epic photos from one night at Marly Bar that I like to call Gnarly bar because, well... It's just so gnarly. This place is right opposite Nick's place so maybe that's one of the reasons why I go there so often heh. But yeah this one Saturday night was actually pretty fun, four finnish and three aussies. And yes I know that I shouldn't probably hang out with finnish people but the fact is if you meet really nice guys who just happen to be finnish you just have to make an exception! And we still speak english most of the time ;) It's always nice to look back at the weekend in the middle of the week. Lucky it's weekend again in two days, yeyy!

Happu Valentine´s Day!

Tein tänään ystävänpäivän kunniaks ihania banaani-mustikka-pannukakkuja jollain omalla kokeilureseptillä. Heitin perus banaanin ja kananmunan mukaan vähän kaurahiutaleita, mustikoita, kanelia ja muita hauskoja mausteita. Ja hyvää oli! Jopa pikku Grace tykkäs, jätti kyllä marjat lautaselleen mikä ei sinänsä oo mikään ylläri. Marjat ja hedelmät on yleensä tälle neidille ihan ehdoton ei mutta toivon kuitenkin että tää tulis muuttumaan mun ollessa täällä (: Kolmannessa kuvassa näkyvät Tigin shampoo ja hoitoaine on ihan mun lempparituotteet tällä hetkellä! Sain noi tervetuliaslahjaks mun ekalta host-äidiltä, joka sattuu myös olemaan kampaaja heh. Noissa on ihan mielettömän ihana ja hedelmäinen tuoksu ja tuntuu muutenkin toimivan tosi hyvin näille mun suht vaurioituneille hiuksille! Mutta nyt lähden viettämään ystävänpäivää Newtownin suuntaan ja samalla nauttimaan viikonlopusta! Ihanaa ystävänpäivää ♥

It's Valentine's Day so I made awesome banana blueberry pancakes! Usually I make banana pancakes from only banana and egg but today I decided to be experimental and throw in some blueberries, rolled oats, cinnamon and other cool spices. And it was good! Even little Gracie kept asking for more even though she left all the berries on her plate. This little lady isn't much of a fan of fruits or berries but I hope it'll change while I'm here (: In the third photo you can see my favorite shampoo and conditioner from Tigi. They were actually a welcoming gift from my first host mom who happens to be a hairdresser as well. I just love the fruity smell of these products and they also seem to work really well for my quite damaged hair! But now I'm gonna head to Newtown and enjoy Valentine's day and the weekend! Have a lovely Valentine's Day ♥

Au pair life through my phone

Heissan! Tässä näätte vähän mun au pair -arkea pikkuisen kaksivuotiaan Gracen kanssa ! Oon kyl niin ilonen että vihdoin ja viimein tää kolmas host perhe nappas ja tällä kertaa voin oikeesti sanoa että nautin tästä työstä, vaikka toki on niitä kamaliakin päiviä. Varsinkin viime päivät on ollu tavallista rankempia kun pikku Grace on tehokkaasti ottanut käyttöönsä sanan "EI" ja alkanut viljellä sitä valehtelematta joka ikisessä tilanteessa. Mutta silti... Hyvät hetket päihittää huonot mennen tullen! Oon myös huomannu ekan host perheen jälkeen, että mun lemppari ikä lapsissa on ehdottomasti just tää taaperoikä. Toisin kun esimerkiks 6-vuotias, parin vuoden ikänen pallero on aina valmis halaamaan ja tykkää susta joka tapauksessa. Ja vaikka olis kuinka kova tahto niin "pomon paikka" on helpompi ottaa pienemmän kanssa, koska noin pieni ei vaan yksinkertasesti kykene kunnolla väittämään vastaan. Mutta jee viikonloppu jo parin päivän päästä, en malta odottaa että pääsen eroon lapsista! Ja tää ei siis tarkota etten tykkäis lapsista, mutta kun viettää yli kymmenen tuntia päivässä kahestaan kaksivuotiaan kanssa niin jotenkin kummasti siinä vaan tulee ihan hulluks... Anyways puseja ja haleja!

Hi there! Here you can see a bit of my daily au pair life with my little two-year-old mate, Gracie! I'm so happy that it's gone so well with my third host family so far. And this time I can honestly say that I enjoy this job even though there are some terrible days as well. Especially last few days have been a bit tougher than usually cause Grace has effectively started to use the word "NO" in pretty much every single situation you can imagine. But still... The good moments beat the bad ones! After my first host family experience I also noticed that my favorite age of children is definitely the toddler age. Unlike for example an six year old, a toddler is always ready for cuddles and loves you no matter what. It's also pretty easy to show who's the boss cause kids at that age just simply can't argue with you properly. But yeah weekend is only a couple of days away, can't wait to get away from children haha :D And don't get me wrong I like kids but when you spend over 10 hours per day alone with a two-year-old you just tend to go NUTS... Anyways, hugs and kisses!
