The East Coast: Byron Bay & Nimbin

Moikkamoooi! Mun itärannikon reissun eka etappi oli siis Byron Bay, jossa oltiin käyty jo aikasemmin miniroadtripillä, joten tiesin jo vähän mitä odottaa. Byron Bay on ihanan rento ja hipihtävä, surffareita täynnä oleva rantakaupunki jossa voi vaan chillailla. Yöbussi Sydneystä Byronille kesti about 14 tuntia, mutta meni yllättävän nopeesti vaan "nukkuessa" musat korvissa.

Heyyyy! So my first destination on the East Coast was Byron Bay. We did a little roadtrip there like couple of months ago, so I kinda knew what to expect. Byron Bay is a chill and hippie kinda place full of surfers. It's a really cool beach town where you can just relax. The night bus from Sydney to Byron took about 14 hours but it went suprisingly fast as I was just "sleeping" my headphones on.

Kun päästiin perille, saatiin heti kyyti minibussilla suoraan hostellille. Bussissa tutustuin jenkkityttöön, jonka kanssa päätettiin suunnata heti aluks rantsulle, koska vielä ei päästy tsekkaamaan itteämme sisään. Hostelli oli tosi kiva, ihan rannan vieressä, ihan täydellistä! :) Joka ilta oli jotain ohjelmaa (muun muassa livemusaa, johon taisin vähän sekaantua vahingossa heheh). Ekana päivänä käytiin myös tsekkaamassa Byron Bayn melkeenpä ykkös nähtävyys, majakka ja satuttiinkin paikan päälle just sopivasti auringonlaskun aikaan, ah!

When we got there the shuttle bus from our hostel came straight away to pick us up. On the bus I came friends with an american girl and we decided to head to the beach because it wasn't time to check in yet. Our hostel was really cool and had straight beach access which was kinda perfect :) There was always something going on every night (for example live music, that I might have accidentally got involved heheh). On the first day in Byron we also went to see one of its main sights, the lighthouse and we happened to be there just when the sun was setting, ah!

Toka päivä meni käytännössä kokonaan biitsillä (ylläriylläri) ja kolmantena päivän oli vuorossa retki hippikylä Nimbiniin, joka on siis vähän niinku aussien Amsterdam, jossa kannabis on käytännössä laillista ja kadulla joka toinen ihminen on myymässä sitä ihan sellasenaan tai cookiessien muodossa hahah... Tosi kummallinen paikka, mutta ihan mielenkiintonen käydä tsekkaamassa! Matkan varrella päästiin kattelee vesiputoksia ja muuta jännää, ja meidän retkeen kuulu myös barbaque-lunch, heeell yeah! Bussissa musa soi täysillä ja oli ihan kreisi meininki, paras päivä! Pian koitti jo vika ilta Byron Bayllä, ja oli aika sanoo heipat kaikille hulvattomille hostellityypeille, joihin olin noiden parin päivän aikana siellä tutustunu.

The whole second day we spent on the beach (what a surprise) and the next day I went on a bus tour to see the famous hippie village, Nimbin. It's sort of like Amsterdam of Australia. Cannabis is practically legal there and every other person on the street is selling it or cookies hahah... I think Nimbin is a really weird place, but definitely interesting to check out! On the way there we got to see cool stuff like waterfalls and there was also a barbeque lunch included in our tour, heeell yyyeah! The music was so loud on the bus and everybody was just going crazy, such a fun day! Soon it was time to say goodbye to all the awesome hostel people that I got to know during those couple of days in BB.

 

Byron Bay oli kyllä ehdottomasti yks lempparipaikka koko itärannikolla ja täydellinen tapa alottaa reissu! Sinne haluisin vielä takasin joskus päästä. Seuraavana aamuna oli vuorossa bussimatka paikkaan, nimeltä Noosa, josta lisää seuraavassa postauksessa!

Byron Bay was definitely one of my favourite places on the whole East Coast and a perfect way to start the trip! I would love to go back there some time for sure. The next morning I had to take the bus to a place called Noosa that I'm gonna tell you more about soon!

The South Coast: Narooma part one

Hellou pitkästä aikaa! Joku on ehkä ihmetelly minne oon kadonnu kun ei oo yli kuukauteen kuulunu mitään täällä blogin puolella. Syitä siihen on yksi: East Coast. Lähin siis kuukaudeks reissaamaan Aussien itärannikkoa Sydneystä Cairnssiin ja läppäri jäi ihan tarkotuksella kotiin, joten ei pahemmin voinu tien päällä postailla. Kamera oli kuitenkin messissä joten kuvamatskua on runsaasti! Ennen East Coastia hypätään kuitenkin South Coastille, jossa vietettiin pääsiäinen Nickin kanssa semmosessa paikassa kun Narooma, niin upee paikka!

Hey! Long time no see heh... Someone might have been wondering where I am cause I haven't updated for over a month. The reason is pretty much my East Coast trip. So I went backpacking from Sydney up to Cairns for one month and didn't want to take my laptop with me to carry around so I couldn't really write my blog. I had my camera with me though so I've got heaps of photos! Anyway before my trip to the East Coast we went to the South Coast to a place called Narooma for Easter, it's such a beautiful place!
